Member States have elected Ms Doreen BOGDAN-MARTIN of the United States as the next Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

    First and final round of the elections: Thursday, 29 September 2022, 09.30 hours (Bucharest time)

    Doreen Bogdan-Martin of the United States was elected Secretary-General of ITU with 139 votes. 172 Member States were present and voting and the required majority was 83. Rashid Ismailov of the Russian Federation received 25 votes.
