Booking rooms at PP-22

The ITU Secretariat will manage the meeting rooms for the Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 at the Palace of Parliament venue in Bucharest. Delegations are kindly asked to contact the Room Reservations Service at conf-logistics@itu.int to reserve a room.

Please note that meeting facilities are primarily allocated to the work of the conference. To ensure the limited number of meeting rooms are made available fairly, the following conditions apply:

  • All requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Each delegation is restricted to 2 non-consecutive slots of 1.5 hours per day
  • Meeting rooms cannot be booked as working space or office suites
  • Requests will be processed in the following order of precedence:
    • PP-22 Committees and related working/drafting groups
    • Member States and Regional Organizations
    • Other entities

Please be aware that an advance reservation may therefore be cancelled and rescheduled depending on the number and nature of requests received. Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

ITU Exchange Lounge

The ITU Exchange Lounge at PP-22 will be a centrally located space for social interaction composed of a café, the ITU Bookshop, an interactive display of the new ITU HQ building, seating for informal discussions and interviews, and facilities for delegates and staff to “meet the experts”. Due to its central location, it will be a centre of activity and interaction within PP and a natural meeting point for delegates and staff alike.

Centrally located on ITU’s Exchange Lounge you will find the ITUShop, with a wide range of ITU/Swiss-branded souvenirs and a selection of the newest ITU Publications.

Titles available will include most key reference documents (including the Collection of Basic Texts, Final Acts WRC 2019) along with the recently launched SMS4DC 5.2 and other new releases. Any firm order placed at the bookshop in Bucharest for titles not available on-hand will benefit from free expedited shipping from Geneva to your preferred address.

The ITUShop team will also be ready to meet your needs for any last-minute requirements, including international plug adaptors, power banks, wireless mouse, notepads, USB keys, and event-branded souvenir mugs and water bottles.

Otherwise, feel free to consult the 2022 Publication Catalogue and forward any customized pre-orders (for publications only) prior to August 30 to sales@itu.int for pick-up on-site in Bucharest.

For more information on any ITU Publication, please see www.itu.int/publications or write us at sales@itu.int.

Media and communication facilities and services

Bona fide media are invited to learn more about the media accreditation/registration process on the ITU Media Accreditation webpage.

An online PP-22 Newsroom has also been developed, which hosts a wide range of resources for journalists in all six working languages of ITU, including a growing list of topical backgrounders, photos, videos, infographics, social media links, PP-22 media coverage, and official PP-22 news announcements.

Media facilities at PP-22 will include a dedicated Press Room for ITU accredited media, and the ITU Media Relations Team will be onsite to handle all media inquiries, and to facilitate interviews with key officials of the Conference.

Nomination of Media Focal Point in Delegations
With the increasing media interest in ICTs and in the work of ITU, around 300 local and international ITU-accredited media are expected to attend PP-22.

To facilitate their work, and also to ensure Delegations have the chance to tell their stories about the issues and achievements that their country cares about, Delegations are invited to nominate a Media Focal Point for any press inquiries before or during the event. This Media Focal Point will serve as the contact person for the ITU Media Relations Team, enabling them to get in touch with your delegation quickly to pass on requests for interviews, photos or videos. It is suggested that your delegation’s Media Focal Point be someone on your official delegation who will be in a position to respond quickly should the ITU Media Relations Team need to get in touch – it need not necessarily be the person who would actually be interviewed by journalists, but rather the person who will be charged with coordinating with ITU’s team to ensure you get the chance to get your message across in a timely and efficient manner. The name, mobile number and email of your Delegation’s Media Focal Point should be sent to pressinfo@itu.int with the subject “PP-22 Delegation Media Focal Point” by 1 September 2022.
